I've spent 25 years at the intersection of elite athletic performance and outdoor adventure—first as a competitive athlete, then coaching 65+ national champion and professional athletes across motorsports, cycling, climbing, and mountaineering, and now writing about all of it.

My coaching work has taken me from motocross tracks to mountain summits, from criterium races to gravel roads. I've learned that the mental battles matter more than the gear, that recovery is as important as training, and that the stories athletes don't tell are often the most important ones.

I've served as Editor-in-Chief at The Feed and am a regular contributor to GearJunkie, Gear Institute, Upshift Online Magazine, Racer X Virtual Trainer, and other outlets. My writing ranges from gear reviews and trip reports to more complex subjects—mental health in performance spaces, what happens when athletes break, and the human cost of pursuing excellence.

I publish a newsletter on Subtack exploring these themes in depth.

I live in the woods in Wimberley, Texas, with my daughter, a dog, and a cat. In a fantastic stroke of dumb luck, our property connects to a wildlife refuge.

Thanks for stopping by.
